What is Blepharoplasty?
Is it time for you to get rid of that tired, “I-need-a-nap” look? Do you look in the mirror and wish that you looked as young as you feel? The removal of any excess skin and fat pads around your eyelids is a procedure known as eyelid surgery, or a blepharoplasty, which can help you achieve a much more youthful appearance. The eyes are rightly known as the windows to the soul, but your eyelids frame how your eyes are seen, even when they get puffy. If too much puffiness or excessive skin is prevalent, then you may look older than you actually are. Dr. Nimtz can utilize eyelid surgery to sculpt a more youthful looking you.
What are the Benefits of Blepharoplasty?
As we get older, drooping eyelids can give you an exhausted or older look to your face. However, eyelid surgery from Dr. Nimtz can awaken your face, refreshing your appearance. Blepharoplasty fixes eyelid droop, and it shapes and opens up your face, giving you a more youthful appearance, boosting your self-confidence as a result.
Who is a Candidate for Blepharoplasty?
If you have puffiness either above or below your eyes caused by your eyelids, then a blepharoplasty procedure may be an appropriate solution to help you get a younger look. Your eyes have so much to tell the world about who you are, and a blepharoplasty procedure from Dr. Nimtz can remove all the puffiness and excess skin that is undermining your self-confidence.
What is the Procedure for Blepharoplasty?
The process of your eyelid surgery will vary depending upon if you’re having upper eyelid surgery or lower eyelid surgery performed. In the case of the upper eyelids, an incision is made in the natural crease of your eyelid, and Dr. Nimtz will remove the excess skin and fat before closing your incision. On the other hand, for lower eyelid surgery, your incision will be made either at the lash line or inside your eyelids, which works to reduce any under-eye puffiness. Dr. Nimtz will remove any excess fat before closing your incision. Eyelid surgery is performed using local or general anesthesia, and following your eyelid surgery, you’ll be advised to apply cold compresses to your eyes to reduce any potential swelling and bruising. You should also try to keep your head elevated and sleep in an upright position. Following your procedure, it is also quite normal to experience some tearing, blurred vision, or sensitivity to light; however, this should dissipate within a few weeks. Do not wear makeup or contact lenses for at least two weeks following the procedure, and do your best to stay out of the sun if at all possible.
How Much Does Blepharoplasty Cost?
The price of your blepharoplasty procedure varies depending on the extent of treatment needed as well as many other possible factors.
